King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia Celebrate 50 Years – As I Celebrate 50 Years in Sweden
50 Years in Sweden – A Year of Meaningful Milestones
The year 2026 is filled with symbolism, gratitude, and reflection.
This year, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia celebrate 50 years of marriage—an extraordinary milestone celebrated throughout Sweden.
It feels like a meaningful coincidence that I am also celebrating 50 years in Sweden, and that both anniversaries were featured in the same issue of Svensk Damtidning, one of Sweden's most well-known magazines.
I was born in Bangladesh and arrived in Sweden as an adopted little girl in 1976. The past five decades have been a journey of searching for identity, overcoming challenges, embracing growth, and never giving up hope. After half a century, I also experienced the life-changing joy of finding my biological mother—a moment that gave me a deeper understanding of identity, belonging, and the value of knowing where we come from.
Today, I work as a registered nurse, international keynote speaker, coach, moderator, and author. My life journey has shaped my passion for health, self-leadership, identity, and personal development. Through my work, I hope to encourage others to discover their own inner strength, embrace change, and create their own path forward.
Attending the anniversary celebration at the historic House of Nobility in Stockholm, dressed in gold and wearing my symbolic crown, became more than a festive evening. For me, it represented gratitude for life's journey, the courage to continue searching for answers, and the decision to take ownership of my own story.
My sincere thanks to the Royalist Association for a beautiful celebration and to Svensk Damtidning for the recognition.
Life sometimes offers symbolic moments that remind us how far a journey can take us—from Bangladesh to Sweden, and onward to new opportunities.
My journey continues with a desire to build bridges between people, inspire hope, and encourage others to write the next chapter of their own lives. At the same time, several new ideas and projects are taking shape, and I look forward to sharing more in the future.
Because sometimes life isn't about finding the perfect map—it's about having the courage to draw your own.
